Currency rates work by telling you how much one currency is worth in another. The exchange rates of currencies are always on the move. Forex CFD traders try to take advantage of these changing rates to earn a profit by speculating on the direction of the price movement. For example, you could take a buy position on EUR/USD, wait for the euro to increase in value against the dollar, then close your trade by selling EUR/USD for a profit.
If the euro fell against the dollar, though, you’d make a loss.
