How long does a demo account last?
Demo accounts with our FOREX.com platforms last for 90 days after sign up. Afterward, you will not be able to log in using the demo account credentials.
Demo accounts with the MetaTrader 5 platform last for 90 days unless there are open trades in the demo account.
What is the difference between a demo account and a live trading account?
The primary difference between a demo account and a live trading account is that there is no capital at risk when trading in a FOREX.com demo account.
FOREX.com's demo account is a core element of our educational effort. A demo account is intended to familiarize you with the tools and features of FOREX.com's trading platforms and to facilitate the testing of trading strategies in a risk-free environmen using virtual funds.
Results achieved on the FOREX.com demo account are hypothetical and no respresentation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve actual profits or losses similar to those achieved in the demo account. Conditions in the demo account cannot always reasonably reflect all of the market conditions that may affect pricing, execution and margin requirements in a live trading environment. Margin and leverage settings by product and account may vary from time to time between your demo account and a live account due to live account settings changes imposed by FOREX.com resulting from market volatility and other factors. The pricing available in the demo environment is the same pricing available to FOREX.com live account holders.
How do I get an API demo account?
Clients may obtain access to API on a demo trading account if they have a live and open trading account with us.
To request this, you will need to email eu.newaccounts@forex.com, stating your live and open trading account number and whether you would like a live or demo API. Email requests must come from the email address associated with your live and open trading account.
Can I transfer/withdraw the funds in my demo account?
What is the amount I am started with in the demo account and can I change it?
Clients can request for a change to the demo account balance by contacting us via Live Chat, phone call, or email.

Prior to submitting your request, accounts must have a zero balance.
Do you charge any inactivity fees?
If there has been no trading activity within 12 months, we do charge an inactivity fee of €15 per month until we do see trading activity or there are no funds in the account.
If the account has a balance less than €15, the remaining balance will be charged as the inactivity fee, not the full €15. Additional fees will not be charged if the account has no funds.
To avoid being charged inactivity fees, the best way would be to withdraw your funds if you do not plan on using your trading account; otherwise, placing a trade will reset your inactivity period.
Activity like platform logins, orders, deposits, and withdrawals every 12 months will not make a client exempt from inactivity fees.
Accounts will automatically be suspended if the account has a zero balance after 12 months. After the account is suspended, you will need to email support.en@forex.com, indicating that you would like to reactivate your account with your username/account number.

Do you offer EA Hosting/Virtual Private Servers (VPS)?
Accounts are checked at the end of each calendar month to ensure clients are meeting the trading requirement to maintain their EA Hosting. A fee of 30 units of base currency will be debited from accounts that do not meet the minimum eligibility requirement to cover the VPS service.

Acceptable documents for identity is a valid non-expired government-issued photo ID like:

Proof of address documents must be dated within the last six months and must be provided in a pdf format (non-modified) or a scan copy of the original document. Confidential information such as account numbers may be removed at your discretion.
In accordance with our regulatory obligations, additional documentation may be required at any time for internal periodical reviews.
Can I add a beneficiary to my trading account?
An additional option if you wish to have another individual associated with your trading account is to submit a joint account application for a new account.
Can my friend trade for me on my individual account?
An active individual trading account with Forex.com is for the account holder to fund and maintain. Clients are responsible for funding their individual trading accounts with personal funds from their personal bank accounts, maintaining and monitoring and placing their own trades.
How do I acquire an individual account?
If you are looking for an additional account, you may log into the MyAccount page and request a new account through Account Settings.
Why do I need to provide my personal and financial information?
FOREX.com's Customer Due Diligence ('CDD') program requires that we verify the source of our client's funds. This is fundamental in complying with anti-money laundering laws and managing fraud risks. Therefore, we may request you to provide a bank statement or card account statement.
